It was a great pleasure to welcome Mr. Jesko von Koenigsegg to our main showroom. We are truly honored by your kind visit, and it was a remarkable moment to witness Mr. Jesko alongside the extraordinary supercar named in his honor.
The Man Behind the Name
The Koenigsegg Jesko, the all-new megacar unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, is named in tribute to a very special figure in the history of Koenigsegg Automotive.

Jesko von Koenigsegg’s influence on the company dates back even before its founding. It was he who took a young Christian von Koenigsegg to watch the Norwegian animated film Pinchcliffe Grand Prix—a moment that inspired the vision that would later become Koenigsegg Automotive.
Together with his wife, Brita, Jesko nurtured this dream from an early stage. They encouraged their son’s passion for engineering, from rebuilding small bikes and mopeds to tuning boat engines. Their guidance extended beyond technical curiosity—Jesko, as a successful entrepreneur, and Brita, with her renowned millinery business in Stockholm, demonstrated strong business acumen and discipline.
In 1995, after selling his own business, Jesko joined Christian in Olofström during the early days of the company for what was initially planned as a short six-week period of support. Those six weeks turned into five years.
During that time, Jesko became the first Chairman of the Koenigsegg board, dedicating both his expertise and personal resources to the company’s future. His leadership helped establish a strong foundation, building an experienced board and implementing structures that would guide Koenigsegg forward.
“The board understood that the vision for this car was not just a young man’s dream. It was driven by a fierce passion that would accept nothing but the best,” he once said.
Jesko also attended one of Koenigsegg’s earliest public displays at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997. His enthusiasm for the brand and his role in promoting it have remained unwavering ever since.
Today, even years after stepping back from daily operations, Jesko continues to support the company, regularly attending the Koenigsegg stand at the Geneva Motor Show—demonstrating a lifelong commitment to the vision he helped bring to life.
