At the core of the Regera lies a powerful twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, paired with three electric motors and an advanced battery system. Together, they produce a combined output of over 1,500 horsepower and more than 2,000 Nm of torque.
What truly sets the Regera apart is its innovative Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) system. This revolutionary technology eliminates the need for a conventional gearbox, reducing weight and increasing efficiency while delivering seamless and instantaneous power.
Performance Meets Luxury
The Regera blends extraordinary speed with exceptional comfort. While capable of breathtaking acceleration—such as 150–250 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and 0–400 km/h in under 20 seconds—it also offers a smooth, refined driving experience.
This dual personality is enhanced by advanced systems such as active engine mounts and adaptive suspension. In normal driving conditions, the car remains quiet and comfortable, while in performance mode, it transforms into a highly responsive and dynamic machine.
Exclusive Production
The Regera is handcrafted in a limited production of just 80 units at Koenigsegg’s facility in Ängelholm, Sweden. It also marked the first time Koenigsegg produced two models simultaneously, highlighting the brand’s growing capabilities.
The Heart of the Regera
The internal combustion engine remains a vital component of the Regera’s identity. The twin-turbo V8 delivers approximately 1,100 hp on its own, complemented by 700 hp from the electric motors.
Smaller, faster-spooling turbochargers enhance responsiveness and drivability, while the hybrid system provides instant torque through the Direct Drive setup, ensuring smooth and powerful acceleration at all speeds.
A New Level of Innovation
The Regera is also the first fully “robotized” car, featuring Koenigsegg’s Autoskin system. This allows all doors, hoods, and aerodynamic elements to operate automatically at the touch of a button, adding convenience without significant weight increase.
Additionally, proximity sensors ensure safe operation of all moving components, reinforcing both practicality and sophistication.
